egr vacuum stuff

Hey guys...I just got everything back together...sort of...its throwing a check engine light, and its becase egr isn't opening..

The elbow adapter I bought had a allen head plug in it. I take it that I am supposed to take that out, because I was looking at my stock upper intake and theres a fitting on the elbow that has 2 small nipples comming out, and 1 big one...I have a green and red vacuum line...also the little canister where does it go? It was a while back when I took this stuff off and don't remember how it went lol

you can remove that fitting from the old manifold, and screw it into the new elbow. make sure you use a teflon tape or paste on the threads to prevent any vac leaks.

I got it, i saw a pic someone posted on here on how the hoses went..I got the egr hooked up, and it had a problem starting unless you gave it gas right after it started..i plugged the egr hoses up right and it fixed that, but its still throwing the check engine light, and it says its egr not opening for some reason...i still dont have the little cannister hooked up is that what is throwing it this time? Where does it plug into at?

the EGR valve is controlled by the EVP, which IIRC is in the passenger side fender well. So you need to trace your hoses out there, and make sure everything is still intact.

sounds like you just need to plug in the sensor for the egr

EVP = EGR Valve Position sensor

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly

The little canister thing sounds like your fuel pressure regulator. Where did you find a picture of the EGR vacuum lines. I've been looking for one all day because I'm in exactly the same boat as you.

I found out what brought my check engine light back on....the egr valve melted my red wire....however, I am still having problems with it starting when warm..it will start fine when cold, but when it is warm, it starts idles for like 2 secs and dies...you got to keep it revved up for a minute...if you take off it wants to cut out for just a minute..then on down the road its back to normal???

Here is the canister I am talking about...it goes to the gas tank on one side i think..the other piece is a short hose (side closest to me) and IDK where that plugs up too??

Your EGR valve not being functional, is where that stalling fault is from.

Alright, I had tried plugging the purge canister to the vacuum tree off the elbow adapter, and it didn't change anything, I will run it to the intake and see if that takes care of it...I am waiting on a clutch cable because mine snapped last night :/

and Addermk2....It was working fine prior to the swap so something must not be hooked up right or something. The instructions for the elbow adapter said for 94-95 it needed an adapter player for the egr, yet it bolted right up.
