Yes if you look at the lower control arm you will see exactly how the spring is suppose to sit. When I put mine in I just looked at the old ones and put the new ones in like in what I thought was the same position. But all it takes is a 1/4 in to throw them off.
Look at this control arm look at about 10 o clock. see how it drops off, the spring will sit right in it, if it is turned to much the wrong way it will cause the car to sit too high. The only way i learned this is from it happening to me.

4X4'in.....

no longer 4X4'in!!

2 things were causin the 4X4 effect.. 1 was that they werent in the channels... and the reason they werent in the channel was because of reason 2! this...

photo16.jpg

it would appear on BOTH sides that the bottom coil of my stockers had snapped off. and they were shrouded in the bottom iso therefore i had no idea what they were. i literally had to take an air hammer/chisel then a hammer and flathead screwdriver to be used like a pry bar because those things were STUCK! well lesson learned here... SLOW DOWN! problem solved tho! :)

Good to see you finally solved your problem. I have the prokit in my 96 and wish I would have gone with sportlines or something dif. They sit way too high still.

thanks man it took awhile but i figured by now they should have settled but upon reading up on other forms it has been stated FROM EIBACH that the springs do not settle that when you put them in they drop right away! and with the help of the guys and gals on this fourm it greatly helped me figure out what was wrong. so should anyone else have bad 4x4 effect youve done something wrong lol..

but yeah when i was at summit i was going to initially get pro-kits, but upon asking the parts looker upper guy which spring was lower he grabbed the book and i dont remember the exact measurements but the sportline was fairly lower than the pro's and i wanted lower so i went with them. glad i did too it really looks good IMO

Glad you got it fixed. Looks much better! It blows my mind how often the bottom coil snaps off on Mustang springs! I think every stang I have had, the bottom of the stock coil was snapped off!

thanks man! are you serious? this is my first mustang and i have to say ive never heard of this happening. must be a common issue LOL.. but im just glad its done! and hopefully if anyone else has the 4x4 issue after their install they can find this thread and figure out its probably user fault! im not ashamed i did it wrong i just didnt know lol. Onyx mentioned it and i swear i checked it but i didnt jack it up i just poked my head under. gettin it in the air and tire off made all the difference in the world. sorry Onyx you were right all along buddy! lol

do the pig tails on both the rear springs point towards the drivers side? Also when you check the front springs the bottom end of the coil is supposed to cover up the first hole in the control arm but not the second.

really???? is that for all springs? . ... lol. or just eibachs?
