Yeah the technology is there to make a sweet electric car. Hell, my electric rc's smoke my nitromethane powered rc's. Only one real issue, nitro cost's 550, electric cost 1200 for the equivilant truck.

Now if we can get some more reactor's online, start reprocessing the fuel, get Tesla up and running, the cost will come down big time and we'll all be better off.

But Carter couldn't just let there be cheap energy like that..

There would be almost nothing to work on. The brushless motor's use magnet's, the bearing's will eventually wear out, big deal. The speed control (carb if you will), is solid state so again, nothing to wear, the LiPoly, or LiIon batter's are good for infinite charge cycles nearly, and they use pack's of like 1000, so even if one or ten die, you won't even notice it. I garantee the new Tesla's will run 200k without a single issue.

chill out poncho villa... global warming has been happening since before anybody gave a shit... it's not killing us now, and us, our children, and our childrens children will be long gone before it ever affects us. by then they'll have a cure for aids and cancer and probably even global warming...so as of right now... I want my gasoline cars, i want to drive diesel trucks with smoke stacks, and i want to go watch the nitromethane cars run at race tracks...
