A few Sundays ago I went to start my car to head home. When I started it, it started like maybe the starter was weak. Kind of like when you start a car with a battery that doesn't have any juice. I also noticed all the electrical stuff on the cluster flickered as well. So anyway, it finally started then I noticed the battery light was on. Then I look outside the car and I see smoke pouring out of the hood. I quickly shut off the car and pop the hood. The fusible link that goes to the fuse box on the driver's side had melted. So yesterday, I went out and bought a brand new alternator from Advance Auto Parts and got another engine harness. I install everything correctly. Car started up great. As it was running, I see the alternator smoking. I shut off the car and inspect everything. Alternator was sh hot, you can cook on it. The fusible link was pretty hot, but not hot enough where it could melt. So that's where I am with it. I'm totally lost with what to do. I don't wanna give up on her but I'm at that point. Wanted to see if anyone could help out on the subject.
