Whats up ppl...Here's my problem the Emergency Brake DONT work at all !! :nono:
For what i know its not that my cable snapped, I was told to replace my rear brake pads...
but I figured if my pads were worn Id feel some sort of tension on the brake handle as well as be able to stop the car. :BangHead:
By the way I have been under the car while the brake handle is being pulled, and from what I see it pulls
but there is slack therefore not applying tension on the cables leading to the rear brakes.

Any suggestions or info on the subject??

i never heard of an ebrake working bc the brakes were bad usually i think youd notice the brakes are going bad first. because if the ebrake didnt engage at all, its like there are no brakes at all.

the cable could be stretched out. or, i had a similair problem after hitting a puddle going about 30+mph. it pulled one of the cables off of the backside of the stabilizer bar, where the cable splits into two.

just put some jackstands and get under there and look around. make sure the cables are tight on the stabilizer bar. and make sure there is no slack in the line.

heres a link i pulled up online

Is this what you mean by stabilizer bar?? if so mines has play meaning its slack from the emergency handle cable ,
When i pull it doesnt have enough tension enough to pull the 2 rear lines.
like if my line from the E-brake handle to what im guessing is the stabalizer bar is to long which i doubt :dontknow:....
i think my e-brake handle in itself is messed up....

What you think?

yes thats the stabilizer bar i think thats what is called anyways. nice find on the direct picture of it, i couldnt find one.

when there was slack between the stabilizer bar and the handle, was that with the handle all the way up in the on position? if so then id still say the cable stretched.

another thing if you havent checked, pull out the center console and make sure everything is tight in there, make sure the cable is on the handle itself, while its in all the way in the up position yank on the string and if it moves still then id say its deff stretched out.

Yea bro thanks, I figured thats what you meant by stabilizer...

So the handle was pulled all the way up and there was definately slack.
I know the cable is on the track connected to the E-Brake.
So a Streched cable could more then likely be the problem.
I just never would of thought that braided steel could stretch.
Ima get to it this weekend , works got me real busy :violent1:

Ill let you know where this gets me. Later

P.S if theres any other suggestions get at me!
