So i was doing the normal run through the gears until about 70 MPH. I shifted from 2nd to 3rd and brought it up to about 5400RPM's before throwing it in neutral. I began to coast and looked down and noticed my car had shut off... Hmm? So i fired it back up and its knocking pretty consistently. You cant here it at idle but at about 2000RPM's it sounds pretty deep. I pulled my valve covers off last night and found nothing out of the ordinary besides 140,XXX miles worth of wear on the cams. I dont have any loss of power, i guessed a stretched rod. I can upload a video if interested in the topic. Let me know what you think guys. I appreciate it.

kinda sounds like a spun bearing or loose chains. my guess would be a spun rod, but thats just a guess without hearing the car. if you can, post up the vid.

Alright man. I appreciate your input. I can upload the video ASAP. I changed the oil in it today and put some fully synthetic lucas oil stabilizer in it and it quieted it down substantially. I do have a video pretty much after it happened so ill get it up on here.

what did the oil look like when you changed it? did it look metalic at all? or have an metal/plastic shavings in it? if the oil made it quieter, it might not be a spun bearing but something to do with the valvetrain, could be a worn chain guide. how many miles on the car?

+1, the oil that came out may have all kind of signs of what happened

Time for a PI mota, ive seen several for sale..

Haha i actually bought an engine out of an 01 bullitt not too long ago so i kinda prepared for it to blow up. I got a set of comp 270AH's that are going in along with a set of LT's. I changed the oil in it yesterday and put some synthetic lucas stabilizer and it helped substancially.

Hi, glad I could make it here!

Definaly sounds bottom end by the slower knock of it. Drop Pi in there, get this on the stand and get the oil pan off.
