I currently have all oem exhaust except flow 40's on my 96 gt. I have a 99-04 xpipe awaiting installation and came across a flowmaster catback for a 99-04 as well. Other than o2 extensions and modified tailpipe hangers do I need to change anything else for this setup to install correctly. Thanks.

Hopefully where the rear o2 sensors are wont make them hit the tranny cross member. I think you mean mil eliminators ? You shouldn't need o2 extensions. And when they are needed I just cut up the o2's and lengthen them and solder and heat shrink them and ur done.

I stand corrected. O2 ext are only needed with lt headers. I'm going the tuned length shorty route.

if you are sticking with shorties (which i suggest) you're right, you wont need extenders.

I also suggest keeping all 4 o2s, if possible.

not taht I know of. I beleive the 1996-1998 exhaust bolted up to the transmission mount as well, and the 1999-04 skip this mount location, BUT i could be wrong. Some of our more seasoned veterans will chime in :)

I hate the factory mounts for mid pipes I never use them I just tuck the exhaust up nicely and tighten it up. On my friends 96 vert I ended up deleting the rear o2's in the computer with diablo chip

Should be pretty straight forward man. Great thing is from 96-04 you can pretty much swap out the whole exhaust. Minor mods MAY be needed depending on the brand you go with but all in all should be easy. Yeah you can totally bypass the mid pipe mounts I never even looked to see if I have any sitting up there myself because mine came with an o/r x already.

Unbolt what ya got, bolt up the new stuff and go. Should be easy as can be. Well... Exhaust is never easy lol.. But I think you know what I mean. Good luck man throw some pix up when your done!
