Are you doing a single or twin turbo?
If you are going single turbo are you going from 3" down pipe and y-ing off to dual exhaust?
I am running flomaster 10 series race mufflers on my turbo stang. If I were you whatever you do, go with a muffler that is a straight through design and doesn't have any chambers or baffles so you don't have any major backpressure on the turbo, you could also run mufflers but run a 3" cutout before you y the single to duals and uncap it whenever you go to the track.
Or since the turbo acts as a big muffler and you really want it to sound mean and like a major beast just run straight downpipe!

well i should have probably specified it is a v6 car... but yea.. it would be a single turbo and y pipe ... ....... yea open downpipe to the duals... that would be loud and beastly...

I know I saw that you posted in the v6 specific but no mater, you would still want the least restrictive exhaust so either a straight through muffler or straight pipe off the down pipe. And run an open wastegate instead of running it back into the exhaust run it open and it will sound sick and you will have a little more power.

now without a muffler or cat... and having the turbo... does it really affect the boost when it fully comes on?

I love my Flowmaster 10's on my NA V6 and they will sound great for you. Take a look at, or consider the straight thru Pypes M-80 muffler, they sound great. BUT- I think the ultimate set up would be MAC BoomTube's.
BoomTube Video:
A SOHC will sound different than a pushrod with the same mufflers. Just throwing that out there to think about.
