Exhaust Options.....HELP ME PLEASE!

I am trying to decide on which cat back system to get between the Bassani system, and the Flowmaster American thunder...... Now it's purely based off aesthetics, they both sound like muscle car exhaust so i don't care im just EXTREMELY anal about fit..... and finding good pictures of either is difficult.... personal experiences and pictures will help tremendously..... I do intend on getting the catted bassani x pipe if that is of any concern. An im not sure which one is more prone to rust..... if they both rust at the same rate then scratch it

You've got one vote for basanni, everyone in the world has flowmasters, including myself but i'm going to change soon. basanni is pure sex. espically if your going to have headers later down to the road like reality :boink:

i have bassani catted x pipe and flowmaster mufflers... i love it.. the flowmasters have that bubbly sound when you let off from 3k to 2k.... and they kackle like mad when you downshift.... i personally am not a fan of bassani mufflers, but ive only heard them on one GT500, so maybe they were just that one kind or the one car...

could always do what i did. x pipe with straight pipes lol. really loud but again you said you like the looks. slp and bassani have the best looking tips imo.

some bassani come with no tips and you run your plumbing from the back of the muffler up and over the axle. But heres a basanni kit with some nice tips i agree... :-D bassni tips look good...


The GT 500 i saw with bassani almost looked like fart cannons ... :nonono: i didnt really like them much... they were kinked off like imports too... :tickedoff:

Just to throw in my two cents, I have a BBK catted x-pipe and the American Thunder system with 40 series mufflers and I love it. It is quiet on idle, but I step on it, it really opens up. Here is a sound clip of some revs and idle.

I like a deep, quiet exhaust...I think magnaflow does that well.

Hold up a second, if you're anal about fit then DON'T get Bassani. This is coming from someone who had Flowmasters and switched to Bassani and I can tell you straight up the Flowmaster cat-back fits 100% better than the Bassani does. What sounds better? Well that's opinion. Which will rust faster? Flows. What has nicer looking tips? Bassani are half inch larger but the Flowmaster tips come out straight, Bassani's angle outward.

That being said, would I go back to flows? Hell no, Bassani sounds siiiiick. I have some pics, what were you lookin for pic wise?
