Exhaust questions.

I've had open mufflers, turndowns, and tailpipes all with the same muffler. They all sounded different. My exhaust with open mufflers was shorties, o/r x-pipe, SLP loudmouths=stupid loud lol, turndowns=really bad echo off the bottom of the car, tailpipes=different tone, not as loud inside of the car

I had Spintech's on a 93 GT without tail pipes or dumps and I loved the sound it made. I then had dumps welded on; thinking it wouldn't change the sound much and I was way wrong. This is a few years back so it's hard to remember exactly how it changed, but I remember it quieted it down significantly and I'm pretty sure it changed the tone a pretty good amount. I definitely didn't like them as much after I had the dumps welded on. My advice would be to clamp some one before you get them welded to see if you like them or not.

LOL, i have no intention to clamp on dumps anytime soon, but clamp will be the route for sure. That way i can re-position the turn down to see how it changes the sound. The garage is to cold so i will do it during a nice chilled relaxed summer night.

edit: Some guy stopped in the middle of a packed gas station to ask me about my exhaust. I told him "its not a popular exhaust.. and its because the tail pipes are gone" =] First time anyone has asked me about my exhaust so it must sound awesome outside. Said he owns a 96 mustang with a supercharger and bassani exhaust.
