I'm looking for the exact factory lug nuts that would have come on a 94 GT. Got the 17" tri star wheels if that matters. You can see on the wheel itself, that there is some kind of... indention where there used to be some sort of washer or something similar, that went on the lug nut. This might be a tall order, but can anyone cite the exact type of lug nut that should be on the car? Perhaps someone has a pic of an original ford lug nut that would have come on the cars.

Right now I'm just running the parts store special, I assume. They look new and they came on the car. They do fit and they do work of course, and they're even flanged like they should be. But you can sometimes see little specs of aluminum flying off the wheel when you tighten down the lug nut with the impact wrench. It occurs to me that it should probably not do that. Seems bad for the wheel to lose metal every time you need to take them off and put them on. I have seen the lug nuts with the built in washers before, IIRC honda used to run them from the factory. Maybe they still do. Anyone know if Ford was doing anything like that back in 94 on the Mustang?

I don't think the dealer will have parts from a 94, I wish they did. But perhaps I didn't describe it right. Not only is there some type of ring, but you can see an indention for the washer that was made into the metal.

I am parting out a 94 and might be able to help you out here. How soon do you need them? Not sure I am ready to have it off the wheels just yet but planning on doing it anyway.

Well I don't really need to buy any. I just want to know what they look like. I figured once I had that information, it would be a simple matter of getting some (probably from the parts store) that were the same.

Thanks for the pic! Guess I've got the correct ones then. I still wonder what those indentions are though. Around the lug nut hole. Why would those be there?

Yep those are the ones! The indentations are for the taper on the lug nuts as you tighten the nuts in the correct order they help center your wheel.
