Car in question; 2004 Lincoln LS 3.9L

Here's the deal. I'm driving down the road to work and all of a sudden the Air Con starts blowing out hot air as if I had turned on the heater. To double check myself I fiddle with the controls with no avail. First thing I check is the fuses. BINGO... so I thought. I replace the fuse and still no cold air. Now I'm scratching my head and proceed to look at the actual compressor. Ok, compressor is spinning. Still no cold air. Next I think well maybe the "freon" is had evac't somehow. Hit the shrader valve and got blasted with refrigerant. Now if I remember from HVAC school "freon" doesn't just go bad, there has to be some sort of leak which in turn allows it to evac into the environment. So with that being said there's def pressure in the system meaning it hasn't leaked. So this leads me to my last and final thought that it may be some sort of temp sensor that has to do with the climate control system in the car. This car is WAY beyond me considering it's closely related to the X-Type Jaguar which should of threw up a flag when I bought it :violent1:. Any suggestions from the SN95Forum Elite?!

There is a valve door on the LS that gets stuck and cant regulate the air...i am pretty sure this is your problem.

This is a common problem on the LS....I dont know the exact name of the part but search http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/ and there will be the list of the correct part and issue. Like i said, its a common issue with the LS.

Nice cars, but I see alot of issues. Same 3.9 as in the the T-bird. All I can say is head gaskets, head gaskets, and coils. Misfire central.

Yeah i'm crossing my fingers on the head gaskets! The coils however seem to be ok, knock on wood. This is the first real major problem i've had with it (knock on wood again)

Haha it's ok. I figured out through trial and error which one it was. The lucky winner was that bastard alllll the way tucked in the top most part of the dash. I could get to the two bottom screws holding it in without ripping the dash apart but that last one was a beotch and had to resort to taking it apart. This experience has taught me that Ford Engineers are RETARDED!!! Looks like i'm taking the mustang to work tomorrow lol.

The work to make some repairs on these newer cars is absolutely ridiculous! I HATE new cars sometimes. The auto mfgr's forgot the K.I.S.S. principle long ago.

When i used to work at a ford dealership i saw LS's in the shop all the time, many of them were ones i had seen in there before. Honestly that totally turned me away from buying one when the time came for a new daily driver.
