Hello guys.....I have a 94Gt with new thrermostat and Mishimoto raidiator and sending units. My fan comes on when i start the car even when cold. The temp gauge without the a/c on will be right in the middle like it belongs but when i put the a/c on even at night the gauge will rise slowly till its in the red and the starter at that point doesnt want to turn the engine over. I am thinking the fan might not be working properly. What should i do.
Thanks Troy

what state U in climet ? So the factory fan set up has ben removed? If so go back to a 96 or newer fan [18" insted of a 15" fan] this fan will move more air than any aftermarket fan [3800 cfm] the linc mark 8 fan is even beter at just over 4000 cfm will fit with minor mods but plugs in to factory conector. have a reputable shop check for head gasket problems, rule this out most inportant!!

Since you just replaced the thermostat, verify it is installed correctly, and is opening completely. Then verify that when the a/c is turned on that the fan kicks into high speed, you should hear the fan run faster, higher rpm, more noise.

I had the same problem, the high speed fan stopped working and left the low speed on by itself. Just turn on the a/c and watch for the high speed to come on if it doesn't, then you either have a bad fan motor ($99 @ autozone), or a bad ccrm.

When you say the fan turns on when you start the car did you have the a/c on as well?

I cant tell if it blows harder with the engine running and a/c on. Im gonna jump it and see if it picks up speed. Just jumped it and there is no change in RPM so the fan motor is broken. It blows pretty hard though. Thanks guys.

when you pull codes (engine off) one of the first things you will hear is the low speed fan for a couple of seconds followed by the hi speed fan for a couple of seconds.
This is a good way to test the circuitry. But it doesn't test the temp sending unit.

If the low or hi doesn't work , first thing to ck would be the motor itself. I ran a wire straight from the batt to the motor .
Neg wire would to the center pin on the motor connector. and the pos wire would go the either side of the center pin (hi speed and low speed) do not try to pwr both hi and low at the same time or you will definately HAVE to buy a new motor.

If the motor is good then look at the ccrm for pwr in and out for the fan controls. Wiring diagrams can be found in your HAYNES/CHILTON manuals.

You sure about the center being the ground because my 94 has a black wire on the outside and a red on the other outside then a orange in the middle. I grounded the black and powered up the other two. it spun the same on both orange and red and didnt go backwards.

well I thought I was sure the center was gnd. It has been a couple of years since I looked at it. sorry.
The fan isn't the reversable kind.
So it sounds like the motor works on hi and low speed.

Did you try to pull codes to test the ccrm circuits?
