Ok so I'm wanting to go fats and semi-skinnies on my 94 cobra. I want the rear to tuck the tires just inside the fenders but I can't seem to find what the widest wheel and what tire I can fit. If anyone has info or pics on this setup I would really appreciate the input. I was thinking of running 17x5-7 fronts and 15x10 rears with a 325/50 tire and using coil-overs front and rear to get the height correct, I want the car level without the rear sticking up in the air like a shackled up camaro. As far as actual height I think around 2-2.5" lower than stock.

Something like this, maybe a little lower.

believe the fattest you can fit is a 10.5" and a 315.

this is without tubbing or some other stuff.

don't quote that though ;p

It is generally accepted that 315/35/17 is the widest "no-modifications" tire you can fit under an SN95 without significant tire-rubbing concerns.

2.5" lower than stock is impractically low, and although it would look neato, it wouldn't likely be very useful from a drivability perspective on a streetcar.

Paul.

In measuring the wheel well it looks like the widest I can safely go is 11.5" so a 275/60/15 shouldn't have a problems it measures 28 tall and around 10 wide on a 9" wheel. As far as height I'm running a 26" tire with 1" lowered so with a 28" tire and 1" more lower I would in the same place as I am now.

My car has 275/60's on it, lowered about an inch in the rear. It will be significantly lower here soon, but I'm going with extremely adjustable rear control arms and adjustable upper spring seats to fix the crappy geometry that most lowered cars have. The white Cobra has 315/35's on 10.5" wheels.

physically the car would be in the same spot but the tire would be another inch into the fenderwell

275s dont really look wide or big on the back of our cars...if you did the 325s you would probably rub everywhere to be honest.

You could probably run a 28 inch tall, 295 on a 8 inch wide wheel and get that look you want.

those are 15x8 with 295s, 26 inch tall tires though.

They stick our and rubbed the outer fenders only but they had the 4.5" BS and not the 5.5"BS

If you want to be able to lower the car and not rub the outer fenders, go with the 5.5 BS and they will tuck inside, the 4.5 BS will come out to the fenders and rub if your too low.

You could do a 15x10 with a 6.5 BS and a 325 but you may rub, not sure if you care about that or not.

I thought a 295 was too fat for an 8 inch wheel. btw, car is sexy justin

Depends on the wheel size and sidewall

On a 17 inch rim, probably not a good idea...but a 15 inch wheel with a big sidewall, its fine.

Its the biggest recommended tire size for a 15x8 wheel, but it works an looks pretty sexy to me, kinda old school.

Ive run 335 on my car, and they are just too dam big and will rub everywhere.

Stick with 315s or smaller

Justin, are your fender lips rolled? I like the way your car sits. Did they only rub on big bumps or speed breakers?
