driving to school today and my speedometer shuts off and goes to 0, then my overdrive light flashes off and on. I shut it down then start it back up and drives fine for a little bit then speedo shuts off and o/d flashes again, then same thing leaving school, this time the check engine light comes on. Took it to autozone and guy runs the check and says its a faulty speed sensor. Where about is it located, and is it an easy change? Would there be anything else associated with this code that could throw the speed sensor?

The speed sensor is a piece of cake. It's mounted in the tailshaft of the tranny on the driver's side.It has a 2 wire
harness going to it with the obligatory prone to breaking Ford retaining clip.I usually find it easier to remove the
harness after the sensor is out.The sensor is held in by a little slip collar like the ones used to hold down the distributor
on a 5.0. It has one bolt in it,I believe 10 mm.Take out the bolt, slide the collar off and pull the sensor straight out.
Then unclip the harness from it.When you get a new sensor it won't come with a new gear so you will have to pop
the small C-clip off of yours, slide the gear off and reverse to put it on your new one. From the symtoms you're
having I would say a speed sensor is most likely the culprit.

Yep, driver's side of trans, you can do it on your back. Kinda point's up towards the floor, and out. It's the only sensor back there though, so it's easy to locate.
