looks great. I still need to get a hid kit for my fogs. Bothers the hell out of me that they don't match.

do it up, i checked out how the stock fogs looked after i just did the headlights and i just started laughing they looked so pathetic lol. Now just by looking at them its harder to look at the fog lights than the headlights.

and thanks guys.

I think having HID headlights and foglights is somewhat overkill and looks intense when you see someone driving with both...I'm going to get superwhite bulbs for my fogs, so they are nice and white, just not crazy HID white.

Yeah i understand what you mean by overkill, it's a lot of light. I'll warn you now though it doesn't seem to matter what bulbs you get for the fogs they are going to look dull/yellow compared to the headlights.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.... I have the 4300k VVME kit in mine, so I bought some autozone blue tinted bulbs and they match up ok... Two sets of HID's would have been too much, as i like to stay somewhat understated lol...

And as far as them "not working"...I can't see ANYTHING at ANY TIME with my silverstars...so these will be an absolute upgrade.

exactly my point. With the smoked headlights the bulbs that worked just fine in the stock housings didn't throw crap for light with the smoked lights even on the high beams, the HIDs are much, much better.
i dont know about you, but i could see much better with the halogen bulbs in my smoked housings than i can with HID's.

and to answer your question/comment: "and I don't see how additional ambient lighting to the headlights would make them worse"

its not MORE ambient light (which makes it sound like youre getting something out of nothing, which is not physically possible), its the fact that its ambient light that SHOULDNT be ambient, which means that its light going places that it shouldnt go, which means that not enough light is going where it should go.

headlights SHOULD NOT have ambient light. they SHOULD be focused directly on what you are pointing them towards, which is the road. and when you have a ton of ambient light, which is what happens when you put HID's in halogen housings, you get a much less focused area of light on the target you are trying to illuminate (the road).

sure they may seem sufficient for driving once in a blue moon at night, but when you start driving it consistently at night time, you will notice that they do not put off sufficient light. i too was fooled at first by how good they "seemed". they lit up street signs for half a mile... but what good does that do, if you cant read them? especially when thats all they do when theyre in halogen housings.

well like i said earlier the halogen bulbs in the smoked housings were a joke, even on high beams.

Here's a question, if you put a brighter bulb in the headlights does it make it harder to see? I don't understand why people say HIDs in halogen housings have a less focused light, the HID bulb is in the exact same spot as the damn halogen bulb, it's just a lot brighter. When you put something in front of my headlights there is a tightly focused beam that hits the object, i'm not sure how that differs from the halogen besides being much brighter...

and soon you'll realize how much they suck at night without projector lenses.

I have my 8k HIDs in some diamond clear lights for well over a year and they rock!! Rain or shine!

EXACTLY, I refuse to use the headlight the same time as the fogs now just b/c it bothers me that much. It's def on my shorter list of things to do.
and thanks guys.
