Got me an aluminum block 04 PI engine from an explorer!

-85 lbs from the front end FTW!

It's gonna be a month or so before its up and running again but It's gonna be full bolt ons, long tubes, with my procharger huffin 9-10 psi to it!

Should be an animal with my 3600 stall, PI engine, and my cars light weight!

Im shooting for 11's on street tires...I actually think it may be possible with the way these good year eagle f1's hook...

With a set of slicks I will be shooting for low 11s.....

Im not really sure how its gonna run but similar PI cars are running low 11s with the same setup, 3500~ stall, blown, slicks...but ive probably got a weight advantage on those guys.

No, its the same as a 99-04 PI engine but its got an alum. block...which saves like 85 pounds off the front end of the car.

The combination of the PI engine, full bolt ons, blower, stalled auto, and the fact that my car is kind of lightweight being a 248a car should make for a pretty fast street car.

Im excited to be able to actally make power above like 5k

It should definately help out big time with my stall....it liked to hold the rpms at like 5k so im sure I will be making a boat load more power at those rpms with PI vs the NPI setup I was running.

And I dont have pics....lol, Ill take pics when its done I guess...but even then, it wont look any differant than a stock NPI really....although I did polish the shit out of my blower.

Sweet!

What years did this motor come in the explorer 99-04?

Do you know how much power the block itself can hold?

It came 02-05 I believe...only the higher end version like the eddie baur or w/e had the 4.6...most of them had a 4.0 v6.

I pulled the dipstick and the oil was clean as hell/smelled great, had a motorcraft ford oil filter on it.

Im assuming the car was well maintained at the ford dealer on a regular basis so it should run great.

The alum. block is supposed to be good for like 800 hp ive heard...more than I will ever have to worry about breaking.

11's? Really? I don't want to sound like a downer, but is that really realistic? I honestly don't know much about your setup. Do you have any links to similar cars? I'd just like some info. :)
