Went last night first time taking my 95 5.0 5speed to track. Only had it for 3 months or so. Did pretty bad I think. I've been to track many many times with various cars before. I got 14.824 at 100.4 mph.. could not get traction at all in first.. worst was 15.563 at 93mph came out of box sideways past the light. On 275/40/17 street tires. I'll be investing in suspension and tires here soon.. Mods 3.73s Bbk high flow catted h pipe Magnaflow catback 5.0 short shifter. 65mm throttle body Off brand "Cai" All on car when I got it 10degree timing.. 80 degree day very humid too
The MPH is indicative of your HP. Unless you have significantly lightened your SN, that setup is capable of high 13s at minimum. I'd say you have heads, maybe intake, possibly a cam.
LMAO , so after looking into what you said after you said mph was to high i just went over all my slips again. and all the low end times as in r/t the 60ft and 330 where all much lower and matched up except that one slip. the only thing that was in line was the final time. sooo i looked at the number and found out some how i got someone else slip, im sorry guys. my son was with me and im pretty sure he picked up the slip when he was walking threw the pits with my wife. haha but my real best time slip is R/t .234 60' 2.171 330 6.219. 1/8 9.569 mph 74.19 1000 12.420 1/4 14.843 mph 96.40 sorry for confusion .
I will.be going back this Friday . To hopefully get my 60ft down and over all time down a little.. practice practice practice. How do you upload photos on a reply like this. I'll post pics of time slips
timing problems happen all the time. I had my dial in swapped by the both once with the guy I was racing and won the race because he got my slower dial in and broke out badly. We didn't know until the race was over. Now I always look at the board to make sure they have the right dial in time. you will get into low 14s no problems with drag radials or slicks. Plus take out any extra weight you don't need at the track.
im currently going to pick up tubular upper and lower rear control arms this weekend, than looking into drag radials. maybe bump up timing to 12 or 14 i currently have it set at 10 degree's i also had about 150lbs worth of random crap in the car at the time. so next week ill go again and see if i can improve. ... might be last time for awhile. i found out my drivers side shock tower is rusted threw and the passanger side is not far behind. so ill be pulling motor and attempting to fix that . ill be happy with low 14's from what i been reading thats about all you can ask of a basic bolt on 95 gt. some people say they touch 13's with around same upgrades.idk how much i believe that tho
