FMS PI Heads???

Thinking of ordering a set of the FMS PI Heads from Summit. Just wondering, do I need to change the intake as well? I plan on ordering a Kenne Bell also in the near future (like April?), so I was wanting to skip the intake portion..... if not, I will just wait and order the heads/SC at the same time. OR........... is it even worth the swap if I'm going with a KB S/C, should I just keep the NPI heads and get a S/C cams instead? Thanks for the input.

One problem you will run into is that apparently Kenne Bell discontinued the 96-98 S/C kits due to intake mani issues. I haven't checked on this personally but have read it on several boards, including this one I think.

I ended up getting a used Vortech kit but the KB was going to be my first choice.

I understand that, but if I get the PI heads, then wont the 99+ kit be the one I need anyways, so it should not make a differece then right?

I think the fuel rails are different between the 2 KB kits. Not exactly sure, but I would contact KB and ask before ordering.

It's not that you dont have a great set-up, and if I was gonna stay N/A then I would hop all over this. But I want a Kenne Bell and when I called them, there tech told me that the intake will only work with the ROmeo Heads. They have discontinued the production/sale of it for the NPIU and Windsor heads. Thats all. Hell, I might just do a cam swap and call it done anyways. If I'm gonna dump close to $1K into this motor, I'm just going to pull it all together and get a K-mamber and drop my 434 SBC into it. I know it's good for 678hp and it's just sitting in the corner of the room anyways.

well thats ok, i just don't see why they wouldn't work with the windsor heads... the only difference is the valve covers. :dunno:
