I'd still rather have the scope. My buddy has a $1500 Swarovski on his bolt action Savage .223 rifle. We can punch the centers out of the letter "O" on the target at 100 yards with ease. It's ridiculous. At 200 yards, you can still do tight groupings with match ammo - and I'm not even a very good shot.

Wow. Having actually shot at 100 yards. Thats pretty darn good! I've never had the chance to shoot at 200 yards.

It's pretty easy with a giant, heavy bench-rest bolt action gun with a bull barrel and a ridiculous scope. You'd be surprised. My sister had never even fired a rifle before, and was punching the center out of a 3/4" target at 50 yards.
