$7000 for a 350hp longblock is crazy. A $1500 vortech will net you the same and leave $5000 in your pocket.

I have no intentions of going forced induction on this application with the things I want to do. So thanks but that's not what I'm going for. As for 7k for a good motor setup ready to go new out of the box that will handle what I want to do....I'm fine with spending 7k. I'm just up in the air on the dart block.

I bought my engine from Fordstrokers, I haven't received it yet, they are supposed to have it delivered the first week of March. So I cannot say anything about the engine yet, but I will tell you that Woody and Nicole have been amazing to work with, great communication. The explained exactly what they were doing, I have added parts during the build and they are very organized. I am having the cam done at FTI, Ed Curtis said that he loves working with them and sends them a lot of his cams. I cannot wait to get it and I will let you know once I get it, and post a few pics! Hope this helps. This was my first engine that I ordered brand new, and Woody never had any issues with talking to me on the phone, I never felt rushed!

Awesome to hear! I can't wait to go for it.

You may not need to spend $7K, that's a little stout. But to have a reliable 300-350HP that can handle the RPM, won't overheat, no oiling issues, and does not shake itself to death is worth gold. A crappy built motor with the same HP will last a lifetime of car shows and cruises, but I guarantee it would come apart in 1 day with what I'd do to it.

OP, did you ever look into DSS? They had good stuff at one time, not sure of recent reputation.

I'm going to continue on my research into both these companies. I'm willing to pay 7k if it'll last me...cuz it will pay for itself sooner or later and I want something that will handle the track. I have plenty of time to think about all this though on this deployment coming up. gives me tons of time to do all the research i need to do. thanks for all the help guys...I'm most likely going to be doing this when this motor has issues...but gonna be saving for it in mean time!

I can vouch for DSS as of late. products/service/hell even the modular stuff I threw in my engine is nice stuff.

this car is being built for the road course. so they are highly recommended for the rear of our cars to keep the rear end from moving around. you can see in the members rides section where I posted my pics from thunderhill....that without a panhard bar...the inside wheel is sticking out...cuz of the rear end movement.
