I have a 86 GT vert and I like it - nobody believes it's an American car because the back end looks a bit like an English sportscar
Wasnt there a Cosworth or two that kinda resembled the foxbody's in the days?

All my Stangs have been verts. Once you go vert it's hard to go back. As far as weak chassis go in fox verts, I remember putting in springs and shocks in my 90 vert. For some reason I had to hop in the car while it was jacked up. I couldn't open the doors. The body, which was rust free, flexed that much.

Sub frame connectors was the next project.

Blame Vanilla Ice. :)

I've had 5 foxes and never got a convertible. Probably because the cars that fit in my budget needed so much little restoration. Weatherstripping and plastics mostly. The tops were usually trashed. If the top was in good shape then it would be a big expense if it failed

I feel you on the headroom though.

it would be nice to take the top down from time too time but I would rather have a hard top, or a hard top vert if I ad to have a vert

Vert = chick magnet.

If you're a girl, you know this is true. If you're not a girl, you will find that driving a convertible will help you to attract and retain them. This is a proven fact, according to my expert industry analysis.

I am not a convertible fan, not saying there aren't some sweet verts out there. Just not for me. To me, if you are real car person you should know everyone likes different things and just appreciate the work put into whatever it is.

However, I would definitely drive a t-top 70's trans am.

To me, there's a lot of body lines in the roof arches. With a vert its just chopped of and it looks naked.

I like other peoples verts, I just couldn't own one myself unless it was a big boat hardtop vert.
