Does anyone know the difference between Fox and 94/95 Headers? I thought it was the EGR bung, but then found out Fox has them too. I have a set of Hooker Super Comp headers listed as Fox, but they look just right and fit fine on the 94/95 cars.

You’re right, only difference that I know of is the EGR bung, foxbodys get their EGR feed somewhere else other than the headers ( I believe it’s in the heads) so if your doing an EGR delete, you might as well get fox headers as they’re slightly cheaper and look cleaner without the bung

Foxes have egr passages in the heads and intake so no need for a tube from the header to the egr like the 94-95’s. Otherwise should be the same.

Had a 94 gt the egr bung was on passenger side header. My 98 gt is on driver side only! The headers for Ford 260,289,302 and 351 will all bolt up I used a set off a 87 fox and the matching x pipe as well. The egr on 87-95 mustangs flows to passenger side header whereas On the 96 to 04 it runs to the driver's side header

Good info but doesn’t address the question. What is different between Fox headers and 94/95 headers? They look identical to me, and seem to be interchangeable. I just put a set of Fox headers on my son’s 95. They bolted right up. But the header manufacturers sell 2 different models, so something must have changed.

I did not comment because I was not for sure but I thought I read at one point that the collectors end in just a slightly different spot. If you use the fox body X/H-pipe it is not supposed to make a difference but if you use an SN X/H then you can make it work but it will not be an easy connection on the 2nd collector.

Interesting. The Off road H-Pipe was a bit finicky to get in. We had an exhaust leak at first and had to loosen and reconnect the passenger side. So that may very well be the difference. Very slight.

yea that is what I have heard that it can be made to work but its not a simple bolt on deal unless you get the matching fox mid pipe.

I have hooker 6223 long tubes on a 97 with a Qa1 k member and the #8 header tube had to be cut and rerouted to clear the steering shaft.
351w, tremec TKO 600, Lakewood scattershield.

I have heard long tubes are a pain in the ass to install but that seems like a lot.

Yeah the passenger side was easy, drivers side not so much. Flaming river steering shaft and manual rack. I've heard that bbk longtubes for fox fit an sn95, but who knows.

What is your header part # and engine transmission combo?

Stock 94 GT engine and T5 for now. Headers are Hooker shortys I believe they are Super Comps. Which are no longer produced for the 5.0L I’d have to go look at the number on them.
