Whats up guys. Looking to install bigger pump for the stang. Been searching around and I can't find anything for a 98 since it's a bastard year. Tried Summit and Jegs and they were no help either.

Thanks!

+1. the lincoln aviator fuel pump is a good choice, and i believe is a direct swap. also, if you can find it, i recomend the FRPP 170lph fuel pump. good luck finding it tho, as far as i can tell, its been discontinued.

Nope, it has a return. It is a variable speed pump, which will burn out any pump prematurely that isn't designed not to run at full voltage all of the time.

The 98's have a variable speed pump as I mentioned above. At 12 volts it's running at 100% pressure and speed. In order for it to decrease pressure, the voltage to the pump drops. This slows the pump down and decreases the fuel pressure. Most fuel pumps are made to run at 100% voltage all of the time, so if you run them at a lower voltage than 12, they will burn themselves out.

So a Focus pump will work? How about a Ford GT pump? I'm looking for something that'll hold upwards of 500whp.

Sorry guys, I'm still pretty new to the fuel pump thing on these cars. Everything else is second nature

I know that the focus pump will work. As mentioned by someone earlier, your best bet is the SVO pump that I have for sale in the classifieds. It's brand new, 170lph and made for a 1998 GT so it's a direct swap for our cars. You can't beat the price either. Send me a PM if you want it.
