Im not sure what you mean but there is a harness that comes out of the trunk through a rubber plug and plugs into the pump. I would imagine that it runs off the main harness though

I want to put a carbed 351 in a sixxer, and I want to use the in-tank pump if I can.

Fvck no dude...lol.

If you use that it will blow the carb to pieces..

To much fuel pressure dude...roughly 50 psi for a efi car and probably 5psi etc for a carb.

While on this topic; when changing the stock pump out to something like a Walbro 255lph, do the wires have to be cut and spliced? Or is there a plug that simply disconnects?

The initial Key-On sequence will get the fuel pump to cycle via the CCRM I believe, but the hall effect sensor in the distributor is what tells it to keep running while the engine is on.

Long story short, you probably will need to wire the fuel pump up seperately.

Oh, and I don't know much about carb'd applications, but can you regulate an EFI pump all the way down to 5-7 psi?

Kris as long as you mean stock efi to a walbro efi..as long as you get a walbro pump for a ford it will drop in - no cutting, splicing etc.

We sell walbro pumps @ jds.

I've done it with my Ford pickup for year's. Stuck a Bronco tank between the frame rails to get the rusty one out of the cab.

I did indeed answer my own question on another forum, a little wiring and it's done. Thanks guys.

Can you fill us in? I'm curious as to how it is wired. I'm not great with electrical.

It's just a matter of tying in with a new relay at the inertia switch in the trunk, the CCRM get's tossed with the rest of the sixxer stuff.

So do you just wire the power to a constant 12v switched circuit so the fuel pump will run as long as the key is in the "on" position, or what?

Through a add in relay, yes. That was option two if it didn't just run off the body harness.

A fuel pump is a fuel pump. The ones you buy at summit and Jegs all are high output and always require regulators unless you buy cheap junk 5psi one's which are useless. The fact of the matter is, even EFI uses a regulator. The fact that you have to use a regulator doesn't make it right or wrong, its just the way to do it. The factory pump is near 180lph, and the holley one on my race car is the same also. I use a kirban adjustable FPR and it ran fine pumping out over 500hp never missing a beat from the carb.

First of all...no one called you a moron..lol.

Second of all don't come on a message board, ask questions and then get butt hurt when someone else posts their opinion.

There are only 2 reasons you would not do a carb pump on a carb motor.

Lazy or cheap and both are bad reasons if you want to build a car correctly.
