Gas leaks out around hard corner

Well I get my suspension conversion completed then aligned and I wanted to test it out by carving some corners hard. I had close to a full tank at the time and after the third tight corner I started smelling fuel very strongly so I pulled over and checked it out. I saw gas under the fuel door that leaked out. Doesn't leak during normal operation

What's going on here !?

fuel filler neck gasket, or do what Scott suggested! lol I just bought my gasket from Ford; ~$34. Just haven't replaced it. Mine leaks when I corner hard or when I fill it 3/4+. So, for now I'm filling 3/4 and below :)

Is it the bottom grommet going into the gas tank? No, I changed that when I did my 255lph fuel pump. I had fuel coming out from underneath the car when that gasket was a problem 3 years ago.

Does it only happen when 3/4 to full? Hard to say, this is the first time it happened but I figure its much easier to do it while full

@TTOCS thanks for the useless comment that's not an option

The fuel came out from under the gas cap (it was on tight), I saw fuel had leaked down from under the gas cap and was visible under the fuel door running down the side of the car.

I run a 265 front and 295 rear tire Nitto NT05 (very grippy tire) + coilovers and I was really cornering hard when it happened. I was not able to make this happen when I cornered as hard as I could on the stock tire and suspension

Sadly I wont have to deal with this problem because the car is down and out waiting for new front control arms. The steeda x2 ball joint actually fell out while I was driving, It's not to blame however the control arm hole is not as tight as it should be for the ball joint. Good thing this didn't happen while I was driving hard, was going only 20 this time. If anyone has input on new control arms I have a separate thread setting my car up for auto cross.

Ill update this when I get a good look at it

this does happen quite often with race cars.. but they are running fuel cells.. so I dunno.. maybe same thing but i doubt it.. do what they said as far as the gromet.. hope that solves it

Yea I'll look into it but thats a new lower fill Neck grommet from ford only a couple years old. Are the baffles in the tank and the gas cap not supposed to stop this? It doesn't leak from anywhere it just seems gas is forced up the neck and out from under a tight gas cap

Thanks for the reply shifty

Ide hafta say you are the first person on here ive heard mention it.. But I dont read the racing section on SVTP.. might be more common then we think..

I know it happens with racecars.. just cant quite remember if it does with factory cars... If need be ill call my track and ask...But even so, yea it gets forced up and out of the neck. Doesnt leak from the tank itself..

Only happens when the tank was full right?

That's right. I think I'm going to change the gas cap for starters. Its original as far as I know but the rubber doesn't look that bad
