Gas tank is leaking???

Ask me how i know.haha yeah i forgot to mention that too.. i had about a half tank when i had to change my fuel pump so i siphoned it out and it wasn't too bad but I will say it helps to enlist a buddy and pay him with a 12 pack to help hold up the tank. i did it by myself and it's possible but it sucks nuts.

yeah that just sucks nuts right there.. anything fixed on a car in a parking lot with minimal tools is a bastard regardless of what it is.
anyways.. if you have a friend to help you then it shouldn't be too bad to drop the tank. It's just pretty much 3 bolts. I didn't take but two out since i had no help so that made it easier. you can probably get someone to hold the drivers side of the tank up while you unbolt it and then pull the plastic cover off the tank and bolt it back up loose to see where it's coming from but if you've got it that far you may just want to pull the tank down.. only a couple more little screws to undo the filler neck and you can lower it down with a floor jack and hopefully see what you're working with.. just my .02

run the car down to E, its not that hard to drop the tank. Don't forget to unbolt the filler neck before you drop it.
I did it myself with a floor jack and 2X6.

yeah you'll need those if you plan on taking it completely out but you won't need them just to drop it a bit so you can see the top of it. auto zone sells them as a kit for a decent price plus you get the autozone rewards if you can spend 20 bucks

Yeah to see what you have to fix other then that though i would never drop a tank farther then a few inches without taking loose the lines. Your just asking for problems if you don't take them off.

the top part of the tank on the pass side is way up there, what level was your gas at when you noticed the leak? to leak from the top it would have to be totally full.

Sounds like it may be a bad O ring on your fuel level sending unit. If that is the case you might be going on a Hunt like i did to find a new Harness. When mine was bad it ate up the harness that plugged into the unit. It still worked fine i just felt it was not safe to run it like that.
