Gauge install?!?!?!

When installing your water temp and oil pressure gauge is it ok to just splice into the stock sending units? I have purchased new sending units for this.

Do you mean splicing into the stock sending units for the signal? Im pretty sure the answer for the oil pressure is no and the water temp is a maybe. Did you purchase new stock sending units or aftermarket units for new locations?

woah woah hold on, first things first- electric or mechanical? electric you can tap, but mechanical water temp you cannot and oil pressure you can tap but i wouldnt to reduce the chance of false readings.

No on all counts..get the proper sending unit for the guages.

Just realized you were talking about a 95.. sry my statement was based on knowledge of a 96. I would definitely use the matched sending unit for the gauge though either way.

No offense...but you may want to have someone do it for you or have them watch you do it. If you're asking these questions, you may need someone to look over it. Read up on line and do some searching for gauge installs before tackling this yourself.

I have done things that are 100x more complicated than installing gauges. I just never done it before. I'm trying to read up online about it by asking questions here smart guy... I only asked for the link to the correct sending units. No need to be a douche about it

If your gonna buy new gauges, use them. You don't need 2 oil and 2 water.

you do if one is the stock gauge. I personally saw how the motor was hot enough on the dyno that it was taking timing out to cool it while the temp gauge showed 2/3. The stock gauges are pretty dumb.
