Car- 1994 GT bone stock.

Today after I cleaned the MAF I took it for a drive and the insturment cluster went wild under heavy acceleration.... The ABS and charge light came on, the tach & speedo went funky and the temp gauges spiked..... I pulled over and everything went back to normal...... I started again but this time only regular acceleration and nothing happened.....????? Stopped at a light and then the ABS and charge light came back on and the volt meter spiked but nothing else...... I noticed that there was now alittle hitch in my giddy-up after 2000-2500 rpm......

Any ideas...................

Looks like I have an alternator issue.
After more testing and recreation of conditions I found that under heavy acceceleration the alt was producing well in excess of 19 volts and my battery boiled over. Same lights came on and gauges wigged out again. Only bad thing now is that my voltage gauge seems to be pegged to the far right and nolonger functioning. I also took it to where I got the reman alt from and they tested only to find the same thing I did and even got under the car to check the grounds which are just fine.....
They didn't have another on hand so I have to wait until monday

OK-
So I got the new alt and installed it... Cleaned my IAC... Looks like that cured my problems......

Until another demon raised it's head..... Car just dies like I turned off the key.... Then it'll idle but seems to be hunting and stumbles alittle..... PIP is what I've found may be the cause of my issues.... Any input or other things to check.......?????

PIP or Stator Module. Basically its a sensor inside your distributor that tells your car that your distributor is moving and firing. Mine would overheat and shut off. Thus turning my car off completely.

So this would not be an issue on my 98 as it does not have a distributor correct??
