so tomorow ill probably be doing a pass at the drag strip against one of my friends. My car is completely stock and weighs a shitload, his car is a 00 teg and weighs like 2600 lbs with an intake and lowering springs.

i know i can take out spare tire/jack and all the stuff in the trunk but give me some tips on what you do when you go to the strip? like i know some people that take off their airfilter.

Ricer's take off their airfilter's, leave it on.

Pull out the spare, run it as low on gas as you can, 1/4 tank, get a pressure gauge to lower your rear tires, crank the front as full as safely possible, maybe disconnect the swaybar if you have the means. And obviously, check the car over and make sures it's not leaking anything or smoking or anything like that :hammer:

What year is your car? Usually a pulled silencer is good enough. I would go a little lower in the rear, like 20 PSI for a street tire. Go too low with a radial and the tread actually makes a cup though, where the whole middle is bowed up.

No, if you pull the cover, then pull the panel filter, you will see where the airbox pulls air from inside the fenderwell. Inside that there is a convoluted rubber/plastic thing, your air silencer. That is the main restriction in your intake tract, not the filter. If it's still there, yank it out, you'll notice a nice satisfying whoosh when you step on the gas, and a little, but noticeable, bump in power. It may not be there if you got the car used, most people pull em right away, mine lasted 6.8 miles lol.

OK...
When you get to the track, and you are ready to run, first warm up your tires... good... street tires will most likely spin... line up... rev the car at about 3K-3.5K... dont just dump the clutch... slip it a bit... if it spins, dont let off completely, dont stay in it also... pedal the car till it hooks or it is ready to shift into 2nd... If you can powershift... do it... you should be able to get a better 60' than that teg... he is making about 50 less HP than you, but he lighter and he will spin a lot... good launch is the key... if you can pull a 2.0 or 1.9 60' you are not bad and will beat the teg, no problem... if you spin a lot and cant get a good 60 foot... launch at 2000-2500... you should get at least a 2.1 60'...
