Working on my 5.4 2v swap with a supercharged on it. What would be the best belt tensioner to go with?
How much boost are you looking to make? Honestly, only Thump Racing makes a worth-wild tensioner but the are $350+ I am running 16psi on my 2V and was getting crazy slip. Instead of spending $450 for the Thump tensioner or $700+ for an 8-rib conversion....I had my pulley carbinite coated (for $90) and slip is non-existent. http://www.carbiniteracing.com/benefits/benefits.html
The later 3 bolt tensioners were upgraded and stronger. The early ones on our cars were aluminum and would flex/bend under heavy load.
