I have a 2000 convertible GT changing out the serpentine belt and this is the second one I’ve ordered and it is a couple inches too short. Am I expected to stretch this thing? Convertibles are 2v? Correct? Thinking about ordering the 4 valve is the 4v any longer? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Get one for a 98 gt.

Looks like you’ve got a 3 bolt tensioner and the 99-00 should have had a single bolt tensioner. Do you know what work has been done to this car? It looks like it might have gotten a Romeo engine swap. Do you have a picture of the cam covers?

just curious have you put one back on before? you are tensioning the tensioner while trying to slide it over/under a roller? I am not familiar with modulars.

When I worked at Advanced Auto Parts we had a belt measuring tool. Take your old belt in and have the parts store you use measure your old one and get one the same size, or if you are lucky the part number may still be visible.

His routing is correct as far as I can see. I ran in to this problem when I did a Romeo swap on my buddies 00 gt. They came stock with a windsor 4.6 and the timing covers are different.

I got the right belt at OReilys he had to match up the part number though. So the other ones were too short. But its on and running.

I’m 99% sure it’s a windsor. Windsors had the driver side pcv tube that sticks straight up compared to the 01-04 romeo, which is at the same angle as the valve covers. And the oil fill tube is taller.
