Those things are pretty cool. I'm pretty sure they never came in all black interior, which is kind of disappointing. And they never came in other colors either.

Those are cool cars, the dealership I worked at had one with 4000 miles on it. i wanted to buy it and swap all my aftermarket over to it. The guy that bought it now uses it as his daily driver. yes winters too. :angry7:

That's not really worse than you buying it and putting a bunch of aftermarket stuff on it, IMO.

Cool car, but a removable hardtop isn't really worth much of a premium. Maybe a little bit, but not a ton, probably because most people wouldn't want the hassle, not to mention how bad the soft top probably gets when those hardtops are put on for months at a time.

The hardtop was an option on ANY convertible. When we purchased ours, we were asked if we wanted the hartop. It was a $5K option. We opted against it for the very same reasons Nacho98 mentioned.

Plus, you gotta have a place to store the hard top when you have it off.

And the seller didn't post a picture of what the soft top looks like.

say what?!?! i call BS. i've never heard of that. the only hardtops that i've ever heard of were these 499 cobras in 95 only. all the same car. the dealer might have had an aftermarket something lined up but this was never an option from Ford as an add on.

the hardtops actually came with a hardtop caddy to keep it vertical and roll around.

As the person who made the purchase in '95 and rolled out of the showroom with 4 miles on the odometer, I can assure you that the option was available to us. Ford option. We turned it down.

driving it in the winter is no worse than putting tasteful mods on it? get real, stock parts can be put back on any time, not a big deal. But nobody wants a car like that driven in the winter.

^^^Nor do most people who see those cars as valuable want one that's had someone's aftermarket mods.

Modifications destroy value, true story. So does winter. They are both terrible routes to take if you value a particular car.

Stock parts can be put back, but how often does that actually happen? Pretty much never.
