the powder coat should be smooth like chrome or any other finish.
No other curing should have been needed since the PC is baked on.
I'd definately take them back.
get some pics up later.

Re: Got my rims, 2 are way bad!!!!

All I know is I called like @ 1, they weren't done yet. By time I got there like @ 5, they were ready to get. Only thing that could have caused this is just the wind in the back of the truck I was in. I had them laying on cardboard. I had my 2 seats, so there was not room to slide around! I was in my dad's 09 Crew Cab Ram, so the bed is already short. I had the perfect amount of room! I drove about 40 miles going 65. I then got to Texas for the last 15 miles, so 70. I am 99.7% sure they were fine there. I know I showed them to my Mustang buddy. I have no idea the shape they were in then. My mind went from bad to worse!!!

I'll take them to that tire shop. The guy running it was my old boss @ that Texaco station. He is a damn good mechanic. He will know more about this stuff.

How stupid of me is blaming it on the wind? I guess I better look @ the end that was on the cardboard. My luck, still perfect! Maybe I'll put upside down when I bring home for the 2nd time?

Oh yeah, I was never technically in a bad mood. I just had to think up how to word it. How much does it suck that when I get stuff done, I expect crap like this to happen? To me, what else? Yep, came as no surprise this happened.

looks thin to me. i had my L wheels done and its so thick if i threw a wrench at it would just dent em, but the pc would be fine. i had to sit in my living room with a dremel all night grinding down the centers cuz they wouldnt fit on the hub. they probably didnt do a whole lot of prep either. dunno man id take em back and tell him to re-do them.

there shouldn't be any orange peel on properly done paint or chrome. It might be able to be sanded and buffed, now sure about powder but I know you could with paint but either way I would take them back. Don't settle for anything since you paid for them.

how about pics of the seats? I have been throwing the idea around of replacing them or recovering and would love to see what you got.

Sorry, not in my mood to share that like 2 years in the making story!! I think I spent like $1500 @ the least of getting these done. Like I said, long story I'll try to tell later.

I thougth you said closer to $500. I don't need the details, not my concern I have just been kicking the idea around of have my seats done custom. The more I think about it though they will not be leather, never been a fan of swamp azz which is all leather does to me.

Either way they look killer and probaly 100x betteer then the old huh? are you happy with them?

I was hoping the was cheaper then the catskinz optiong.

Pretty sure I never said $500 for my seats. Might have typed that with typing about them? Sure never meant that. How do I like them, kinda forgot all about them after my rims BS! Guess OK? I have an appt to have them put in on Monday. I guess I drop my car off as I head back to my powder coater.

I bought the new to me seats sometime around April 2nd? I just 'thought' they could add in the tan inserts? Nope!! He said once he got in, the leather I thought was near perfect was not so good. He said he reused like the sides & back material. What you see & sit on, all new.

seats look good but I think 1500 seems very high........... could have got some bad ass aftermarket ones for that.

you said in the other post about seat upholstery.

"I basically just had my seats recovered. It cost me $475. Not even sure what kind of a deal that was. I just only do work @ this upholstery shop."

But $475 is not the $500.

When I drove back in town, I immediately went to show my Mustang buddy friend. He said that when he saw them, they were perfect!! I don't know of when this happened. I drove to his house to mine, maybe 2 miles? Never over prob 30 MPH. I then went into my house & grabbed stuff to put the wax on the rims. Next I know, that's what I'm doing. I then see they have 'fish eyed', all freaking over them. It might have been from rubbing the wax on them? That's all I can think of. Any of this make sense to y'all? My brain is just not working right, after this!!

Also. I have spent about $1500 on the getting my seats how I liked them. I can't remember how I got that exact #, let me try. When I took my car to get my makeover, I wanted that shop to add black inserts to my stock PB ones. I think once they took them apart to put in the inserts, they learned the foams were all f'd up. He said something about getting the foams, I just have no idea. I then bought my Hunsaker's for $400. Yep. I have pictures with my paint job & my PB crap, so I guess I bought the Hunsakers after? I gave them my car for like a week. He put in those seats, dyed my light bar, that's the major work, like $150. I was out some, no idea! I found the Cobra Coupe seats on 4/6/10, $425. I took them to have my PB inserts added. I thought they looked damn good for how old they were, huh. He told me once he got into these, leather couldn't be saved! He had to redo 90% of them, $475. When my LH seat's uh, brace broke, that was $60 to get back working. Comes to like $1510. Took all that crap to happen to get what I wanted done!! I'm the luckiest SOB alive!!!!
