btw guys, the trick to getting ultra high quality online (mine are 4288x2848, which is a full 12.2 megapixels) is to upload them to a server. if you notice the links those are on, it's not photo bucket or anything like that, but a website that i set up for my mom. i'm using the server as a picture depot for my car now too :D
photobucket takes your image and dumbs it down wayyyy too much to get a nice 12 mp quality photo

Thanks Foofinator, I used a Canon Rebel T4i with a 50mm F/1.8 prime lens and I used it hand held. The background blurr is due to the small f-stop..I think I used F/3.2 F/4.5 something like that. I only used photoshop to clean and sharpen and adjust the color every so slightly. I try not to over process with photoshop on most of my images. Sometime it's fun, like in the last pic I posted. That one is heavily done with P/S.

The lens is super sharp and the camera is the newest model available. It has a touch screen, the first for a dslr. It's my standby camera. I also have a 85mm F/1.8 prime which is even sharper, but sometimes I get more purple fringing with oustide, so lighting conditions need to be just right and less chrome the better. I do try to use a tripod whenever possible along with a timer or my wireless shutter release. Guaranteed to get sharp pics every time.
