Has anyone else ever had this problem???

so i put my saleens back on yesterday cause it was 55+ degrees out and sunny! Its supposed to be even nicer today! Ill get some pics soon hopefully...But I noticed something weird yesterday though and am wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem. When I was tightening my front 18x9s everything was fine but I noticed that my rear 18x10s somehow have skinnier lug holes cause I didnt notice till I was done tightening them up that I took some black paint off on the inside of these holes from the socket scratching them...has anyone else ever had this problem??? How can I avoid this??? I think the explanation in the difference of the wheels is because the front two were purchased from AM and the rear two were purchased from another website...

I have the same exact problem except its all of my wheels. I Just went out to the local auto store and got an EL Cheapo socket of the same size went back home and took the grinder to it. I took off as much as possible on the top half of the socket and they work pretty well except for when I'm on the last 2 nuts, the wheel will come off center and you have to hold it on the hub and loosen the nuts its such a pain but welcome to the world of repo wheels.

same problem on all my wheels. get skinnier lugs, thats what i did. guy at the shop called them "line-drives"??? they are really skinny and require a special socket for removal.

my bullits do the same thing.
on mine the rear lugs are recessed and the front are not.
like already stated, get a chrome socket because they have a thinner sidewall that an impact socket or grind down your 4 way some

They make special sockets for such situations, they even have a rubber grommet inside to protect your lug nuts (similar to spark plug sockets).

They are called spline drive. I had to use the same when I had my saleen style wheels.

Good news is every lug is a lock since you need the special socket to remove them

I didnt like those red ones in that URL you posted but where do u get those gorilla locking lugs? cause im gonna be buying some chrome ones anyways and those look pretty good...

i noticed that too the first time i went to use my impact sockets, they are way too thick. I have to use the chrome ones cause they're skinnier but i think it still scratched the inside of the lug hole a little bit.

so these exact ones will fit and will be skinnier than my lugs now??? where would i be able to buy a skinnier socket too though cause the problem isnt the lugs scratching the holes its just the socket...
