has anyone put 2-1/16 guages where the heater controls are at?

if anyone has any helpful hints or have done this i would love some insight for my car... the pillar pods wont work with the cage im doing and with the dash clock thats only 2 guages and i need more..i could always replace the cluster with the autometer ones but i want to attempt putting them where the heater controls are at.... thanks trav
