hopefully getting ready to put my order in for my exhaust finally!! :headbang: but i was wondering a couple things

first off, with the headers i have on now, the power steering column is router right through the tubes of my headers!! is that normal? and do i have to just remove the column before everything then put it on after the install? just doesnt seem right to me.

then, just really quick. doesnt need to be to in depth, what is the main difference between equal length and unequal length shorty headers? any different power gains or sound?

thanks for all the help in advance guys

you probably have equal length on there now. all you need to do is disconnect the steering shaft in the engine compt. and you should be able to slip the headers off. unless you modified you probably won't see much of a diff in HP

the ones i have on now look home made, definitely not aftermarket and definitely not stock. so who knows.

just wondering cuz ive been looking at a bunch of exhaust set ups and wasnt too sure about the difference in the equal/unequal. but i think im going with the pypes beast set up. not too many people have it, especially on a 5.0, and from the few clips ive heard, the sound great! and the pypes headers that come with it i believe are unequal.

so thanks for the help, hopefully it shouldnt be to hard to get the shaft out

when i installed my bbk unequal shorties i had to disconnect the steering shaft too. but i think the equals go around the steering shaft. i took me a good 6 hours to put mine in.

post pics of the headers on your car now

+1 I've gotta see those. my FMS shorties went in pretty gravy, no disconnecting anything. Whole thing might have taken an hour, maybe.
