Headers question

Ok, so I've already said I'm pissed that I didn't do headers when I did my PI head swap, but I'm still going to do them eventually. Does anyone make a set of longtubes for a car with an auto trans? All I can find is for manual trans. Whats the diff between the two anyway? Is it a clearing of the tranny mount or the tranny itself issue?
Also, I've been looking at FRPP Ceramic coated shorty's, but long tubes seem to provide better flow. Is this true, or are shorty's just as good as longtubes? Thanks guys.

Shorties aren't worth the effort unless you have the manifolds off for some other reason (which you already did).

Dynomax, Hedman, BBK, Kook's, and Stainless Works all make header's for an auto. The clearance problem is with the width of the case, the collectors would be in the case if you used 5 speed headers
