Ok my headlights start flashing after about 10 mins of being on. Previous owner wired in 4 aftermarket gauges on the dash and they come on with the headlight switch. So im assuming that the headlight switch is getting over loaded after a few mins getting to hott and shorting out. Im thinking wiring all the gauges to a 20 or 30 amp toggle with a 10 amp inline fuse would do the trick any ideas.

Make sure everything is wired properly before your car catches fire... Headlights are the least of your worries...

It's more likely the head light sw. pigtail that the h/l sw..
The pigtails are known to melt and cause issues.
As already stated, you don't want it to become a carbecue
The bulbs for the guages shouldn't draw so much pwr to need a sw. just for the light. Just wire it correctly.IMHO

None of the gauges where wired to the switch so replaced the headlight switch so far so good. Except for about a day has gone by and now my dash lights wont work.

If your dash lights don't work make sure your tail light are working. they are on the same circuit.
How did the h/l connector look?
Did you turn the dash dimmer know to off? (gotta ask the obvious)

well the dash lights went out but the headlights stayed on. The pig tail for the headlight switched looked a little burnt. I hate wiring issues.
