Ok, so after my fourth heater core exploded two days ago i'm just puzzled as hell. There's really no other way to describe it.

The car has always been odd as far as cooling and whatnot, it used to run hot every now and then after the 02s would close loop. when i got my car dynotuned i changed my fan temps and etc. so its always been cool.

I've done two different thermostats in the car and haven't noticed any change. Sometimes when its cold out it'll never even warm up. it'll just sit on the N or the O or sometimes float between.

i've never messed with cooling systems so i really don't know where to begin. but pulling the dash once a year to have a warm texas winter is really starting to piss me off.

Ummmm....... Maybe you have an issue somewhere behind the dash?? Or maybe your buying the wrong heater core? No idea man. But I had definitely been wondering if you fell off the face of the earth or something lol

The box it sits in is designed for one specific style, its impossible to put the wrong unit in.

And i'm sorry i've been so absent. I'm working 64 hours a week and just recently moved etc. been extremely busy.

What brand core are you using. Also remember 1 thing that is related to temp....PRESSURE if that system is creating too much pressure somewhere, it can lead to premature failure of different parts. Also considering current issues, you may want to invest in an aftermarket temp gague.

The only thing that regulates pressure is the radiator cap. Check that.

What do you mean blow up? They start leaking? Or explode?

Have you tried a OEM one? Maybe pull one from a boneyard.

It doens't literally blow up, but it goes out, and when i make turns coolant goes on my feet, and it makes a green fog on the inside of my glass.

I've been using the oreilly's replacement one, i honstly doubt thats the one, like clockwork it fails at the same time every year (sept) its crazy. I dont know what the difference to a oem one would be.

i'll replace the core, and do a cap this time. does anyone have a good cap laying around? lol
