Hello all.

Ive been doing some work on my 98 and thought I should join this site for a little motivation. I have always been a mustang fan, but it takes me a few years to like the latest bodystyle. I came oh-so-close to buying a brand new 2004 Cobra Convt back in 04. It was only $29,500 after the dealer discounts....Omg I still think about that car. Also I think the 03 and later Cobras really killed Saleen. Theres just no point to buy a new Saleen anymore... then when Steve Saleen started working for that Chinese car company to try and import $5,000 Chinese cars into the US that really put the nail in the coffin in my opinion.

As for my car, its a 98 GT convertible, Atlantic Blue I think, paint code K7. I really like the color and its extremely rare around here. (Actually any sn95 mustang is extremely rare around here.) It has a new 2002 motor with about 6,000 miles on it now, 86,000 on the body. Besides the engine swap, the car is basically stock except for some Borla mufflers. I put on some 13" Cobra brakes so I could actually stop. Im pretty sure it has 3.31 gears since the car wants to do 75 at 1500 RPM. Just recently I put on a Cobra bumper (my old one was cracked in half below the headlight) and i figured since a quart of paint costs over a $100 I should paint some other stuff while Im at it. So I bought a kannen s281 wing and painted that as well.

Oh I also have a 97 GT convertible that I spun on the freeway into a wall. Its been in my driveway for over a year and hopefully one of these days I will part it out.....It has 67,000 miles and a clean title(since i towed it home and had no insurance) Theres a few parts off it i need: like the rear bumper to repaint. Also Im thinking I will take off the mirrors and paint them to match my 98 and see how they look on there. Im also going to switch the convt tops since my 98 leaks a little. I also want to try some 95 tail lights. I really like the looks of those in pictures. I might buy some on CL or just do a straight trade with my 97 Tail lights.

Anyways this seems like a really chill, medium size Mustang Forums so hopefully I can get the some motivation to get my car into shape. Seems like theres a lot of Southern and Midwest Mustangs on here. I hope the 94-04 Mustangs aren't disappearing here in Cali.....

Thanks for the welcome.

@ Feroci: Yah San Diego is the best, Im down there a lot to visit family.

@ Drake: Yes I agree the black top is better, but since I have the other top, I figure its better than a leaky roof for a while. Top should be down anyways hehe.

@ 95_5.0: Bright Atlantic Blue. I really like this color, its like a dark blue at night and bright blue during the day. I see a lot of 2010s with almost the same color too.

Glad theres a few sn95 left in SoCal :)

Anybody else have issues driving with wide tires on the front? I feel like any little line in the road pulls my huge front tires in that direction. I wish I could trade them for 8 inch or something.

Welcome, in LA myself as well. What part of LA are you in exactly?

I'm running 17x9 with 275 tires in the front, with rubbing at full lock (need to go back down to 245 next time I get tires)

ReplicaR, thanks for offer, tempting, Are yours OEM? Mine are aftermarket Im pretty sure. I think I want some 18" Saleen, Y2K or Steeda Ultralites. What I meant by trade is trading my front 275s for somebodys 245s. (assuming someone had my same rims)

Ren, Im around Los Feliz, but usually in Hermosa a few days a week.

Yeah, OEM. They are not the cleanest wheels in the world, but they don't vibrate and don't lose pressure. And most importantly, they clear Brembo kit.
