HELP car acting up

So i just finished replacing the heater core. Take it for a test drive and one of the hoses blows off. I clamp it down better replace the coolant and go for a drive again. The heater is working perfectly but the car in hesitating when i give it some gas in 3rd to 5th gear. When i gas it it is kind of hesitating and bumpy. I tried to get any bubbles out of the lines but all i did was open the radiator cap basicly. Anyone know why it is doing this? Could it be the fuel filter? But why would it only start doing this after i replaced the heating core? help please

make sure that all your vaccum lines are connected properly and any other connections are secure. Did it do this after the line blew off or before too?

ya kintek is right check all connections vaccum lines and sensors you might of disconnected something if the car ran fine before than you did something to the cause this good luck

Yeah vacumn lines or you have a clog somewhere else that is causing this problem. Didn't you say this is your 2nd or 3rd heater core ??

3rd heating core. it went so i replaced it, then that one broke at the sautered joint so i replaced it again. I only remember taking off one vacume line under the hood. could another one come loose, or are there any behind the dash that i could have forgotten? There is this plug under the glove box that i dont remember taking apart but i dont see anything that plugs into it. It is a little 2 wire plug. There is also a little plug under the hood i dont remember taking apart. IT is above the lines to the heating core. I dont see the other plug for eather so could it be that maybe?

can someone tell me a good way to check for vacume leaks. I sprayed carb cleaner under the hood on the vacume lines i saw but i didnt change the way the car idled.

Also is this suposed to be plugged into something? It is connected to that large string of wires under the glove box.

it is like the engine is fluttering whenever i give it gas

that plug is to the trunk pop switch which you prolly dont have on your stang. if you have check you vac lines then it may not be that, check spark plugs, wires, coil. My dads taurus was doing some surging crap like that and I replaced the coil and it is fine now. Have you ever changed your fuel filter though, since you had asked that before. How many miles are on the stang?

i have 145,000 miles. Owned it for about a year and a half. The guy before me took really good car of it. Replaced the fuel filter within a year before i bought it so it is probably 2 years old. Just replaced it about 5 minutes ago and it seems to run little better maybe but it didnt change anything with the fluttering problem when i get on the gas

edit: Just checked the truck release button and it works. Could it be to a light in the glove box? I dont remember if there is a light. or not.


it is a 1996 gt with the 4.6;l btw

there is a light in the glove box, i'd check the spark plugs/wires/coil to see on the fluttering now. That would be my only other guess. You can see about the plugs first and go from there on that though.
