I'm sure it's a little more comfy but it doesn't look right to me lol

Here's what the thumb grips look like, this photo actually sorta turned me off them

I'm also debating whether or not to do the whole wheel in black alcantara or do a mix with leather on the left and right sides (3 o' clock & 9 o' clock).

I just got mine, just need to install. I went with the black alcantara with orange stitching. No center stripe. no extra padding and no thumb grips.

The top pic is Jeremy's car and that is dark charcoal interior for reference. If you're planning on going with black interior, you will probably have to dye all of it. Black is harder to find and mostly only in earlier cars with bad cup holders.

The padded photo is actually ttocs I believe? It look super comfy, but it doesn't look right in my personal opinion. I like the first photo of Jeremy's cobra the best.
I've also heard padding and thumb grips make it hard to install.

Can you share a pic? It doesn't matter if its not installed. I'm aware that I will have to dye the interior, that's how DSMs are. Only 1 year was produced with black interior it isn't an issue.

I agree the padding looks comfy but it doesn't look as cool, not trying to offend ttocs or anything. Everyone has their own preference :)

Looks good I like that you went a similar route that I wanna go with. Looks like you're doing more than just the wheel, thatll look sweet all done up. That black alcantara looks like a nice material glad to see actual photos to confirm thats what I want

Okay I gave it some thought and I'm basically down to these two choices:

Full alcantara wheel with no stripe or anything on it except the stitching will be dark red. Similar to orange94's but with red stitching instead of orange.

Option 2:

Same as above except with a red centering stripe at the top. Costs more $ but looks a bit cooler, and the stitching will have 4 separations like the first pic at the very top.

I also got a redline cover, kinda wished i got the thumb grip/bolsters. my nissan pathfinder has them and i like them lol. But i did black leather and black perforated leather with tan stitching.

And i used the leftover thread to restitch my shifter boot

Looks good

Was doing the stitching a pain in the gasket?

I've decided to ditch the stripe, I think it's cool now but knowing myself I'll hate it later. Gonna keep it simple, full alcantara with dark red stitching. Now I'm looking at carbon fiber and billet aluminum interior options. Idk about you guys but upgrading interiors is some of the most fun shit to do :D

i think a flat bottom wheel with the thumb grips and the center stripe would be pretty cool... kinda like the one in post #4... although the more i look at it, there may be gauge visibility lost with those thumb grips...

That was my initial impression too. In some photos they look really bulky but in others they look just right. I like the flat bottom but I don't think it's worth $650 tbh. I've decided to not go with an aggressive interior scheme but more subtle with nice materials. I've seen a pic of a GTR with a regular steering wheel (no flat bottom, stripes, thumb grips etc) just full alcantara and dark red stitching and thought it looked pretty pleasant.
