I'm about to hook up a oil pressure guage need to know if the stock sender gives any information to the computer. I don't car if my stock guage works or not, I just don't wanna use a pipe tee if I don't have to.
The stock one is a dummy unit. It only shows pressure when the pressure is above a certain threshold. I would assume that using it for an aftermarket gauge wouldnt be possible but Im not 100% certain. If Im wrong Im sure someone will correct me.
You definitely can't use the OEM sender, but I think the OP is asking if he can pitch the stock sender and install the new sender or fitting to the aftermarket gauge there.
Yes, you can, the stock gauge won't work obviously.
Ok thanks guys! I have an autometer guage but wasn't sure if you could just do away with the stock sender since I see everyone using a tee fitting and keeping them. I don't care if the stock guage doesn't work the only stock guages I use are the speedo and fuel level.
