Bondo on the hood? HAHA Chris he is going to have to clean that TB!!! Sounds like that car might be a money pit :sad5:

yes, yes he is. lol.

oh the pcv is still good, but really really oily. is that normal on 4.6's

"normal" yes. "healthy" no. oil commonly leaks into the intake, steeda sells filters for it. but (in this case) i suggest ignoring it and making sure the intake tract is clean.

back on topic, the pig tail going to the drivers side coil is smashed one of the wires going to the pig tail about 4 inches before is is exposed. and one of the spark plug wires is busted where it attaches to the coil.

say what? thats a hard pic to see... clearly, that one wire (or at least the boot) needs replaced...

is she paying to fix the car? did she leave you money? work up a price quote.

clean throttle body (can of TB cleaner): $5.99
new spark plug wire set (or one if you can find 1): $x.xx
new spark plugs: $20.00
new fuel filter: $14.99
new air filter: $5.99

make her pay for it..

20-80 dollars for a wire set. That is probably one of the big problems in it performance. I would take the tb and plenum of and see if there is paint in your upper inatkemanifold. Like I said before. Fixing that car up isn't going to be cheap

she didnt leave me cash, but she did sign an entire check book and told me i could go buy what i need with them or just cash them at the bank. the plugs look fine, and it fires up faster then my 5.0 does. but it bogs when you give it gas and doesnt seem to rev as fast as it should. i havent spent anything on it yet and dont really want to. i think that cause there is no box around the air filter its part of the problem. the filter isnt even sealed i can spin it around and crap. at this point im like f this car i'd rather work on my own or...

i could work on there 63 gmc short bed, there 37 packard or there shelby glhs.
or paint either or both of there boat trailers. this is just something to keep me from getting bored and i get to make money while im at it.

me too.

id start with a cold air intake off ebay. $50.00. sealed air filter.

One problem easily solved. In a few hours you could knock out most of the things we discussed... And your not spending your own money so fix that sh%$. Get that alternator checked out too... That can decrease performance from a weak alternator.
