Help With Factory Alarm

So I'm at work today. As I'm unloading a truck, I hear a car alarm going off. So I went over to check to see if it was mine to be sure. Well, sure enough it was. I guess maybe I hit the panic button on my remote while it was in my pocket. Who knows. So I went and shut off and locked the car with my remote like I normally do. I don't get even 10 feet away from my car and it goes off again. So I had tools with me and I just disconnected my battery till I left to go home at 6pm. So I get home this evening. Lock the car and sure enough, the car goes off. If i don't arm the car with the remote, the car doesn't go off. So I just locked it with the lock switch in the car. My car has the stock ford alarm system. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction with this issue. This is the first time this has happened.

mine does that too. except when i use the remote to unlock it and the alarm goes off when i open the door

test and replace your cars battery if it shows marginal. A battery that is just at the edge of going bad will drive an alarm nuts.....

I actually just replaced it with a brand new one 2 weeks ago. Any other ideas?

the alarm module is just a few circuit boards and bunch of relays. find the part number and replace the relay.

the best way i can think of finding which relay is the alarm relay is to pull the module apart and hit the panic button. which ever once clicks is the relay you need to replace. I'm thinking the relay is sticking or something.

trunk. behind the carpeting. driver side. black and has some embossed lettering on it i think.

do you have any junk yards near by? maybe go pull one out of a GT there and put it in yours. depending on how much the yard wants for it.

start simple and Double check all the battery connections before you start tearing it apart and throwing parts at it. Give a good tug on the batter connections as well as the chassis ground next to the battery ground and make sure they do not move AT ALL!

A little late, but I figured I'd reply anyway.

My car was doing the EXACT same thing as yours. I never could figure it out though. I checked the battery, and used my other key fob, nothing ever worked. I never actually messed with the alarm box or anything. I wound up pulling the fuse and voila. Problem solved.
