The car runs fine for the first 30 minutes of driving. Once it's warmed up it will have a slight miss or kind of a stumble while cruising. Wot it pings pretty bad.

A little back story on the car. It sat for a year with a bad automatic transmission.

I swapped to a t5 but was running the auto ecu. it seemed to run great for the first week. Then It started having the issues I stated.

The 5speed ECU arrived. I swapped it out still the same problems.

I'm getting a code 176 and 212.

Timing was at 14 when I bought it. It's back at 10 now. Still pings.

Could the 212 be from a bad distributor? When I was adjusting the timing the distributor had a wobble to it.

The car has long tubes if that helps any. Just looked and Code 176 is a lean code. I'll check fuel pressure tomorrow. I've cleaned the maf. I'll try cleaning it again just Incase.

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue to me. Your pump is probably taking a dump, and when it gets warmed up it can't keep up with the needs, which explains that stumble while cruising

Verify pressure at the fuel rail using the schrader valve and report back PSI with and without vacuum line connected to the fuel pressure regulator. Also make sure pressure does not drop as you rev the engine. Another thing to look for would be the harmonic balancer. Mine was worn out and had turned slightly on itself which gave me a false timing reading. Did you time the engine with the SPOUT connector removed? Did you make sure to put it back on when the timing was done? Verify wiring to make sure it is not damaged.

I'll get the readings tonight and see what they look like. Spout is intact it was also removed to set the timing back, and replaced afterwards.

On the code 176. Some places I read it's a lean code and other places it's lean code on the left bank only. Little confused on that.

I went ahead and cleared the codes last night. On the way to work the cel came back on. I'm gonna dump the codes again tonight and make sure no others shave appeared.

Something a little strange that I'm wondering about is the tach definitely shows the bucking. I'll be cruising at 70 and it'll jump up and down 200-300 rpm. Though at that speed I don't feel like I've really lost that much rpm.

OK results are in. Same codes reappeared. 176 212. Fuel pressure is 29.5 at idle. 39 vacume unplugged and 27 at a constant 3000rpm. Sounds a little low to me.

Definitely low. Like I said it sounds like a fuel delivery issue. Mine did the same thing before the pump crapped the bed.

Change the fuel filter and see if it's clogged.

I'll go ahead and change the filter this weekend and see what that does. If it doesn't help I'll probably throw a pump in it.

Swapped fuel filters out Friday night. Didn't make much difference. I checked the pressure Saturday morning while the engine/pump were cold. Fp still seems the same.

I started leaning towards the 212 code. Looked inside the dizzy and noticed the pip wires were black almost burnt looking. Went ahead and stabbed a new dizzy in. Been running around all weekend with no problem. Thinking that may have been the whole issue.

I also found a pin hole in my driver side long tube right by the o2 sensor. Maybe that's causing the other code.

I'm gonna drive it a few more days and see what happens so far the stumble and 212 code is gone.

Hey g36 monkey. I see you live in Orlando. I live on the west side of Orlando in ocoee. We should meet up at Orlando speed world one weekend.

Nice! I put an offer on a house in Ocoee! Looks like it will be panning out too! The LT pin hole could be causing some issue but it is not likely.

So far so good. Still the o2 code that I need to figure out but it runs great. I agree that hole is probably not enough to throw a code. Still thinking the pumps might be a little weak.

That's pretty cool man! I hope you get it! What area in ocoee is it at. I'm like 5 minutes from Starke lake.
