I'm an indecisive person, but I've finally decided on a look for my car. I just want it to look stock and clean. I wanna repaint my calipers and gas tank so I have a couple questions. I have drilled and slotted rotors and am getting polished wheels, so should I do my calipers black or sliver? I like the way the silver looks, but I'm wondering if it'd be too much of the same color in one spot and maybe the black would look good to break it up. I know this isn't a big decision and not many people will notice, but I still can't decide. Also, I'm gonna repaint my gas tank black, and I was wondering if the straps would look good polished to match the wheels? Or if they'd look better just repainted black? The small details are what get me, I have a hard time with the details.

get a small logo/decal made for you and add that into the mix with some silver letters on a black caliper. Something simple like just "mustang" or "GT", anchor room can hook you up. Just use it as a mask, paint it the whole thing silver then apply your mask. Now go and paint it all black and then wait 10-15 mins and peel the mask back and yer done.

As far as the gas tank straps go, i've heard they stay polished for like a month, then you have to repolish the whole things. if you want some contrast, respray the gas tank cover flat black and paint the straps gloss black

Wellp, I would say do the bracket one color, and the caliper the other. The contrast really looks nice.

Sure they are cobra brakes so they look a little different but that's how I did it.
Initially the red there was the antisqueak stuff, I liked it there so I painted it red. You could incorporate the orange into it lol.

Go ahead and just do the straps black, because the polish will wear off really quickly, and they will look worse than before. A nice rubberized undercoating wouldn't be bad.

thorco3 did a nice job of painting the top portion and then he polished the bar that goes on the bottom that looked pretty cool.

+1 to the staying clean, +1 for the fishbowl, +1 for the logo on the calipers. Think that will be a nice subtle touch. As for the straps, I would also have to say stay black just because they will most likely get dirty and thrashed so quickly, I'm not sure if the effort would be worth it.

Additionally, what g36 said, I think some tangerine would look pretty cool too somewhere haha. Gawd I love clean cars.
