heres a good one for ya....smoking at throttle release but not at idle?

Ok heres my problem i have a 95 gt vert with an explorer manifold now i cranked it up they other day and it hesitated to crank then started smoked a little then stop smoking once oil pressure increased i let it idle for almost thirty mins NO SMOKE oil pressure good NO OVERHEATING NO LEAKS (visual of course). It idled pretty rough and when you give it and it doesn smoke UNTIL you let off the throttle then smokes like a freight train. well i assumed it was the intake manifold gaskets. changed them out and now it wont start? and keeps blowing the pvc valve out? there is NO COOLANT in the oil? any suggestions?

So it will sit at idle, no smoke, rev it up, then let off and drop back down to idle, and then it smokes?
And this only started happening after your intake install? you might want to check to make sure the intake isn't
cracked anywhere. Even still you might not be able to see a crack that is in a coolant/oil passage.

Sounds to me like the PCV is stuck open or the screen is not put in. If you replaced the PCV make sure you get one from Ford. The others from Napa/AutoZone/Advance all suck.

thanks for you help guys i had a friend come over and we did a leak down test and everything was good there....then we did a compression test in the number 5 cyc it read 80 psi then we did a wet test and it shoot up to 175. so we came to the conclusion that it is prolly in the head?

Did you have this same problem before you swapped intake manifolds, or just after? Logic would say that the only thing that changed in
the equation, may be your culprit.....
